Very telling and I can believe every bit of it. Chad was all about speed and tempo and that was his recruiting plan, thinking he could turn the SEC into Big XII with track meets every week. Same philosophy that JJ had. Outscore your opponents and make games exciting for the fans and once you start winning, it will be easier to recruit defensive players. Wasn't going to happen with really just one full year of recruiting and it's difficult to sell that model when you are getting your arse handed to you week in and week out.

That post breaks my heart. My other daughter spent her whole life dreaming of playing D1 golf and when it finally happened the coach would bench her for missing practice to go to class. She went from playing in the USGA Women's Am to giving it all up, all because of a horrible coach. Seeing a kid's dream get dashed like that really hits home and makes me want to cry.

Chad Morris is poison and now everyone knows it. Whoever hires him in any capacity can't say they weren't warned.

I'm sure he will get another gig, but, he has a taint attached to him now.

Meanwhile Chandler Morris offered by USC. Could Chad end up there as an offensive analyst along with Graham Harrell at OC?

He should enjoy his new large wealth and re-surface as an assistant coach somewhere...which is really what he is.

from ArkansasFight.com:

Chad Morris finishes 4-18 in two seasons, 0-14 in the SEC, and 2-4 against Group of 5 teams. He is, without a doubt, the worst coach in Arkansas football history. He has a case to be called the worst coach ever hired by a Power 5 team.

Here are the worst Power 5 coaches since 1996, by win percentage:
1. Ted Roof, Duke (6-45, 12%)
2. David Beaty, Kansas (6-42, 13%)
3. Carl Franks, Duke (7-45, 14%)
4. Jon Embree, Colorado (4-21, 16%)
5. Paul Wulff, Washington State (9-40, 18%)
6. Dave Roberts, Baylor (4-18, 18%)
6(t). Chad Morris, Arkansas (4-18, 18%)

Arkansas is by far the best program of any of them. Had Morris been allowed to finish the season and go 4-20, he would have passed Roberts and Wulff.

Pretty safe bet that Chad won't be a HC again anytime soon.

I do hope he is always remembered as the worst P5 hire in history.

I know it's Arkansas but they have been playing with the big boys for quite a while. I am still in shock their powers that be didn't see right through his crap when they hired him, but hey live and let live.

This gives Arkansas a legitimate shot a bowl game next year-might fall a game short. He doesn't have to beat the SEC -all he has to do is win 4 non-conference games and 2 SEC games and he's a big upgrade on what they had last year. I'd guess Arkansas gets at least 5 wins just like when SMU went from 2-10 to to 5-7 in Morris' 2nd year but was playing for a bowl at end of the season. If you betting that Morris isn't going to upgrade that program then this will not end well for YOU

Write it down

I just went back and started rereading this topic from the beginning. Classic message board stuff. Posters going all in on their takes to be proven right or wrong in the future. Not sure why it became so toxic to some and ultimately removed from the football section.

Just 12 days after being fired by the University of Arkansas, former Razorback football coach Chad Morris put his Fayetteville home up for sale.

The 3-acre estate on North Horse Meadow Drive hit the market Friday (Nov. 22). The property is east of Fayetteville off of North Gulley Road and Bridgewater Lane, in the upscale neighborhood Bridgewater Estates.

Morris’ residence is the largest in the 29-lot subdivision. It includes a seven-bedroom, 11,616-square-foot main residence and one-bedroom, 1,975-square-foot guest residence.

According to Washington County property records, Morris paid Stuart and Melanie Scott $3.8 million for the property in May 2018, five months after he was named head football coach at UA.

Jana-Wrenay Elkins with Lindsey & Associates in Fayetteville has the home listed for $3.79 million ($279.52 per square foot). Elkins describes the property as “beyond breathtaking.” It includes bluestone patios, swimming pool, custom hot tub, gas fire pit, lighted sport court and infrared recessed heaters.

Elkins’ listing says a more detailed list of amenities is available upon request. Razorback helmets and other accessories do not convey with the property, according to the listing.

Bridgewater Estates is known for its country living but still being within a 10-minute drive for essentials and entertainment. That combination is appealing for those who can afford to live there — that includes high-profile coaches at the UA.

The list of coaches associated with Bridgewater speaks for itself. Razorback baseball coach Dave Van Horn makes his home there. Former football coaches Bobby Petrino and Bielema and former basketball coach John Pelphrey all lived there while coaching the Hogs.

Former basketball coach Mike Anderson, fired this past March after coaching the basketball team for the past eight years, also lived in Bridgewater. Now the head coach at St. John’s University in Brooklyn, N.Y., Anderson’s 8,400-square-foot residence, across the street from Morris’ property, is on the market for $2.8 million.

Razorback basketball coach Eric Musselman bucked the Bridgewater trend earlier this year. The first-year coach purchased an 8,000-square-foot home in the gated Clear Creek neighborhood at Blessings Golf Club in Johnson near Fayetteville for $1.94 million ($242.50 per square foot).

I just checked Zillow, there are no homes anywhere near these 2 properties that are remotely in their price range. Good luck trying to recoup all your $$$.
