This was one of the more glaring mistakes made yesterday, but since the announcers were obviously shooting tape to become Navy's home announcers, they completely missed this - just like the refs. HUGE advantage that it was on the Navy sideline, so our coaches couldn't see it, but how does the replay booth not see this? Should have been 4th down at best the 29, not the 31. 4th and 3, I don't think they line up to go for it on 4th, or if they do, we aren't so jumpy looking for the QB sneak.
Re: Refs on last couple of playsThe AAC will never become a major player until they get good consistent refs.
Re: Refs on last couple of playsDon't get me wrong. I fully appreciate what the Navy players are doing with their lives.
But that doesn't mean they should get preferential treatment from the refs in a football game!!! Also, we did plenty of things poorly on our own to lose the game... Shake It Off Moody
Re: Refs on last couple of playsAlso, the play that Sonny called bush league is interesting. I saw a different angle, where our player jumped in the neutral zone, without touching a Navy player, then got back, the Navy player jumped up and was off sides, the most important part was, the center never snapped the ball. It should have been off sides Navy and SMU would have got another shot from around midfield, with just over a minute left to play.
Re: Refs on last couple of playsIf a defensive player enters the neutral zone and causes an offensive player to react, it is a defensive penalty. If the defensive player jumps but does not enter the neutral zone then any offensive movement would be an offensive penalty.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Refs on last couple of playsI was shocked the 1st down call was “confirmed” on the play the runner was stood up at/before the goal line and not just “stands.” I never saw anything that conclusive and I don’t think they ever showed the original angle again that looked like the runner was short of the line.
Re: Refs on last couple of playsWe should have done a better job on offense in the 3rd quarter.
Peruna is my mascot!
Re: Refs on last couple of playsThe officials didn't cause this loss. They missed calls. A lot of calls. Next play.
Mark hit it on the head,,,offense laid a dudy in a punchbowl in the second half. It is on us. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: Refs on last couple of plays
Oh you mean only running 6 plays? 5 incompletions and a scramble for 4 yds? Ugh.
Re: Refs on last couple of playsThe officals are all we have come to expect from AAC officials. THe Navy game wasn't an exception.
Offense had more to do with our loss than officals.
