Memphis vs. Cincinnati

Postby SMU#92 » Fri Nov 29, 2019 3:47 pm

Looks like a VERY different environment today in Memphis compared to the one we played in.

The opening kickoff return looked familiar. :|

Hoping for Memphis. Don't want a team that lost 42-0 to Ohio State representing our conference in the Cotton Bowl.

Memphis is so freaking fast. They’ll represent the AAC well.

I’m feeling really good about our game against Memphis after watching this.

Cincinnati is starting to wake up a little bit. Putting some pressure on White, & it’s making a difference.

Tough road for the AAC and Memphis to get the NY6 game. Tough having to beat Cincy in back to back weeks, but nice that Memphis gets to play another home game against the Bearcats.

re-match was a heck of a game. Memphis on to Cotton Bowl and Cincy deserves to play a P5 team in some bowl

Hopefully both Cincy and SMU will get a shot and maybe Navy as well if there are enough slots. Cotton may like to have Baylor but Bears might end up in Sugar against either Bama or Georgia so I'm guessing Memphis gets either Bama or Georgia in Cotton?

Arguably more than the Bearkitties; I realize we didn’t play THE osu but we also never lost by >7 points.

Glad Memphis pulled this out, only to guarantee the AAC gets into a NYE bowl and subsequent payout.

Seeing today, really makes you realize what a buzzsaw we ran into that Saturday night.

Attendance for SMU was 59,500+ (capacity just over 58,000)

For today's championship, they announced 33,00, which honestly felt a little generous.

An 80% larger crowd is significant.

Like I said after we lost: our game was the real championship game.
