Sam Blum posted on Twitter that "SMU point guard Kendric Davis plans to enter name in NBA Draft after this season."

Relax. Anyone one year removed from H.S. and at least 19 years old can "declare" for the NBA Draft and hope to get invited to workouts to get a feel for where they stand. He can do that and still return to school. Kendric is not ready for prime time and at this stage of his development I'm not even sure he would fare well in the G league, but it's understandable he would want feedback if he has professional aspirations.

This. It is basically a free evaluation of your game so that you know what the scouts want you to work on before next seaon.
