I think it has to be a big part of the future of this thing. Wondering what the contract law implications will be as well. Things feel very “wild west” in for sure.

Market price. Game has changed rather dramatically if agents are now allowed into the arena

lol, it’s ALWAYS been this way, to a degree.

I remember talking to a big money booster during the PonyExpress years. He laughed at the notion that SMU dangled $$$ / cars, etc in front of HS kids and they immediately signed. He said these kids had a sense of their worth and wanted to be paid ‘somewhat’ accordingly.

Kinda sounds like this kid, although he may be greedy

coaches have always had challenges in building/maintaining their rosters and developing team chemistry but NIL now out in the open makes it all the more challenging

As much as I agree with the nil idea, it is going to kill college athletics.

Think about it. The kids learn this behavior from the very coaches who complain about them.

so much for the comment 'student athlete' . Now semi-pro who occasionally attends classes and wants and education.

Majority of college athletes will still be student athletes and be happy to have a full ride and possibly a stipend to boot. I think this is why Dabo Swinney is foreseeing a much smaller number of programs wanting to compete at the highest level of what will undoubtedly become semi-pro ball.
