Which team will be first to win their new conference?

Postby Caballo » Mon Jul 11, 2022 11:11 am

With the recent defection of USC and UCLA to the Big (whatever number it is now) and last year's SEC addition of Texas and OU, which team will be the first one to win the football championship in their new conference?

My pick is USC. And my second prediction is that none of these four teams will win a conference championship within the next ten years.

Thoughts?

UT will not win an SEC championship for at least a 5 years.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Sticking with your exact ask between UT, OU, USC, and UCLA, I would definitely say OU winning the SEC will come first.

They can always put together an elite national team and are almost always the team to beat in the Big12. Texas, on the other hand, I cannot see them winning the SEC for at least a dozen or so years, maybe never. Hell, they can't even effectively compete in the Big12, no way they will be SEC ready for many years, if ever.

From top to bottom, the Big 10 is weaker than the SEC which will benefit USC and UCLA but I just dont see them ever getting over the hump of finishing over the few elites for a long time.

I say OU will be first, and that may even take a while.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

I also have OU, and not for a long while.

I'll say SC, but honestly I can't see any of them winning a conference title in the foreseeable future.
