IMHO, No.
We are caught in the moment right now, and it seems like it. But the UTEP game clinching our first bowl bid in forever was bigger. In fact, the Cavan game we lost to TCU that kept us out of a bowl was bigger.
We have a great staff, investment pouring into the program, and two great NIL collectives. We actually have a very good "program", and programs are above individual results. The result of the game tomorrow isn't going to impact that we are a program on the rise.
Optically, we held our own against a Big 10 team. And we are going to be able to hold our own tomorrow against the Big 12. Games can turn either way with turnovers, penalties, and injuries. But people are going to be able to see that we are on equal footing with those conferences, and it will be more evident when we get into own conference play what the state of the program is.
