Really need to find a road game with someone who will give us a home/home and come to Dallas in 2025. Lots of scheduling work to do with all this conference realignment going on. Local series with TCU, UNT & Baylor should be high priority with all the travel we are going to have playing in the ACC. Might need to look at former WAC/CUSA/AAC opponents like Tulsa & Rice as well to help fill future year's schedules. Would be nice to not have to always look for one sided FCS games in Ford

I might have a solution.

Army dropped Syracuse and we are looking for a hole to fill.

There is precedent of playing conference opponents as a non conference game. It isn't normally done but it has been done recently.

Too me this is a no brainer. Conference members should be willing to help out each other. It could be a one off game but maybe we just schedule a home and home. Play the 2nd game later in the decade.

We can't fill your hole in '25 as we are already are playing you.

I think that's unfortunately too much to hope for. The Syracuse option is the best one for both schools, and at least it's a P5 road matchup replacing what was an expected P5 road matchup. That 2025 home game is likely to have to be a best-one-off-option-we-can-find sort of game.

We should drop TCU forever. And Baylor? Same thing. I don't want to travel to Waco for any reason. We shouldn't acknowledge the existence of backstabbers.

The best part of going to Waco is stopping by the Chech shop in West for kolaches on the way back to Dallas. Also, the beer cheese bread is to die for.

My grandparents on my father’s side were in West. Relatives owned a bakery and meat shop. Great pastries and sausage. Have no contacts there anymore but it is a home for great food.

It would be great to get another shot at the Bears. The last game I can remember with them, they never threw a pass and beat us by something like 35 points in Dallas, embarrassing .

Any truth to the 2025 SMU v Auburn rumor?

Auburn would have to buy out on of their games for it to happen (at Baylor, vs Ball State, vs South Alabama, vs Mercer....oof).

But they have plenty of space on the non conference slate 2026 and on.

Schedule to help SMU. If you can get Home and Away with Brand Names, do so. Then take any SEC or BT team that will do Hone and Away. After that, schedule to help your recruiting. Not enough recruits in CO to matter. But there are in Houston and New Orleans. There also are in San Diego and Cincinnati.
