"This was great opportunity to see how our freshmen handle pressure and to give our upperclassmen extra experience. We are extremely proud of our performance and are excited to begin our season in a few weeks against TCU."
In addition to Townsend, Lauren Hogan also picked up a point over fences for the Mustangs.
Lucy Blundon, Greer Hindle and Alessandra Shultz each earned a point on the flat, with Blundon earning a team-best 73 in the event.
