Strengths as a Player

His size and strength allow him to physically overwhelm many opponents, and his technique is more advanced than many high school linemen, leading to a flood of accolades coming his way.

Interviews

Alan Ali on why he chose SMU:

The business school was the biggest thing. SMU is a great school, and now that I know the coaches and saw the campus life … it’s a great place.

I love Coach Morris. He’s a great man. He and Coach Fry and Coach Craddock recruited me hard, even though after I was already committed. I went to visit with my mom, and we walked around … it’s an amazing place. I knew then that I loved SMU.

I wanted to get the ball rolling for the 2017 class. I wanted other people to see it’s not about how many people are in the stadium, it’s about who you have around you.

I think Coach Fry is a great teacher. Playing for him, I think I’ll really clean up my technique. I think he’s going to make me a much better player.
