VIDEO: SMU wingback Kyran Chambron Pinho and men's soccer head coach Kevin Hudson met the media after Chambron Pinho's goal helped the No. 15 Mustangs earn a 2-2 draw against No. 5 Stanford.From SMUMustangs.com:No. 15 Mustangs Tie No. 5 Stanford At Washburne Stadium DALLAS (SMU) — No. 15 SMU drew 2-2 against No. 5 Stanford in a back-and-forth match at Washburne Stadium, Friday.Kyran Chambron Pinho scored a goal and crafted the second goal to force the tie.The visitors took the first lead at the start of the second half, but the Mustangs responded with two consecutive goals in the 74th and 77th minute to reverse the scoreline.Stanford scored their equalizer in the 81st minute, and the points were shared at the night's end.SMU is now 6-1-5 overall and 2-1-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. They have eight points and are sixth in the ACC standings.How It HappenedThe Mustangs and Cardinal were evenly matched at the start of the match. Both teams scrambled to gain momentum without taking a shot in the first 20 minutes of regulation.The match remained frantic through the first half, but the scoreline remained 0-0 after 45 minutes. The second kick-off marked the beginning of a goal-filled second half.At the start of the second period, Stanford managed to open the scoreline with a header served from a free kick just outside the box.SMU took charge of the match after the opening goal and found an equalizer in the 74th minute through Chambron Pinho's free kick.The Frankfurt, Germany, native curled a shot from the edge of the penalty box to net a goal over the Stanford goalkeeper.Four minutes after the Mustangs' first goal, SMU took the lead from a corner kick. The goal was, again, crafted by Chambron Pinho with a long corner to the face of the goal, rattling the net after hitting a Stanford defender.The visitors responded with a goal in the 81st minute. Jackson Kiil scored the equalizer on a rebound.Both teams were eager to find a match winner but the scoreline remained at 2-2 at the full-time whistle.Other NotesSMU continues its scoring streak to make it 32 consecutive matches with one or more goals.The result was SMU’s second draw against Stanford. Their first draw was in 2003 at Tulsa where the scoreboard remained blank after two overtime periods.Chambron Pinho scored his second free kick goal of the season.
