I thought someone wrote that Serge is at Marshall this weekend, not Minnesota. Am I mixed up?

I don't know a great deal about the Snead kid. I really don't know a lot about Justin Willis, either, but I saw him play 7 times this year.

If a QB I'm considering a transfer within Texas, SMU probably isn't at the top of my list, either. Maybe he'd beat out Willis, maybe Willis would beat him ...

Just watched the videoclips on rivals. I'm no coach, but he looks pretty quick and light on his feet. Wonder if he could keep that if he added 30 pounds.

You're right, I think, but I saw the same report (I assume) that Lotus saw. It claimed he had official offers in-hand from those four, and "interest" in two others - which, like you said, might mean nothing more than the fact that he likes the school colors or something.

They also gave Dan Freiburger a shot. Sometimes connections score a tryout for a guy.

I think they're hacked off because they realize they weren't able to make SMU do what they wanted anymore. If Coach Doherty goes out and gets a good player from North Carolina or Kansas or New York, I'll cheer for them just as much as I would if they sign a team full of guys from Dallas. I'm not a ...

... Only you could wish a kid to transfer from us, to our hated rival, to light it up... Now that's not true -- someone else said here yesterday that TCU was his second-favorite team because they showed that a private school could win with JUCOs or something.

FYI: that was sarcasm. It was ...

He was great, absolutely great.

And did anyone notice that at halftime, when Barkley and the crew were talking about how much Carmelo was struggling, they showed about 6 or 7 first-half trips by Melo where he missed (including two airballs) and had at least one blocked. Wearing him out was #13 ...

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Do we need Dallas players? No. Would we like them? Of course. For the sake of argument, say Coach Doberty goes out and gets a couple of stud players, and they team with Bamba Fall and Derrick Roberts and the rest to really surprise some people next year -- not ...

Coach Doherty has had great success as a recruiter before, and there's no reason he can't again. Sure, a little time might be necessary with some of the local coaches, but having a great salesman sitting down with them and hashing out differences might speed up the healing process.

That's a pretty cool clip. I've always heard the terms (checking off defenders, etc.), but never actually seen it. Now it makes a little more sense.

Thanks to SMU and Duke H. for doing that.

Is there not a single thread in which PonyFans can universally support and congratulate a Pony -- or even a future Pony -- on his effort and all the work that went into getting there?

Well done, Mickey. Keep up the good work, and be ready to roll in August!

And what purpose does constant negativism serve? Encouraging players? Encouraging coaches? Inspiring fans to give to the Mustang Club in an effort to better the fortunes of the athletic department and the athletes and coaches? No, no and no. Maybe it does serve a purpose, and can help make things ...
