Man, feels weird to root for Duke and UNC in the tourney after hating them for so many years, but I got make that adjustment and just do it!indianmustang wrote:Time for Duke and UNC to show their blueblood legacy

Good point!
Hopefully Carolina can squeeze into that 5th spot and we can get a rematch.
Need to take care of business at Stanford tomorrow.

Re: 2025 Bracketology and ACC Tournament Updates
Wake still has to play Duke, so they are going to lose at least one more.
I would say that if we win out and then win our first tournament game, most likely against North Carolina, then we are in even if we lose to Duke. We would finish the season with a high net ranking, a top four ACC conference ...

Boopie Miller Injury Info
This information is probably buried in some of the game threads/bracketology threads but after a quick look through them, could not see anything definitive.
Boopie always seems to be a game time decision, but has yet to suit up. I remember hearing that it was a bruised foot on one of the telecasts ...

For the first time on ESPN's Daily Bubble Watch, after beating Pitt last night, SMU has moved from the "Work to Do" category to the "Should Be in" category on this morning's report and they list us as having a 78% chance to make the tournament.

Re: GAME THREAD: MBB vs. Pittsburgh
Impressive win, and I think the Louisville beat down was just what the doctor ordered for this team. When they play [deleted] defense and move the ball on offense this is a tough team. Really didnΓÇÖt expect a blowout but I sure enjoyed it. Beat Wake Saturday and they will be in the driverΓÇÖs seat ...

Damn,
My memory is fading, had most of it right though! Thanks for the clarification, I remember being devastated by that opening round loss to TCU and was sure it would cost us a tourney birth.

Re: Other games of interest
Georgia Tech on a roll certainly helps us since we beat them by 22 points less than a month ago. SMU is a strange team, no Quad 1 wins, but we have also managed to have no bad losses, we are perfect in Quad 3 and 4 games, that is why we are firmly on the top part of the tourney bubble. Just keep ...

Mustangs beat the Longhorns and Tom Penders in the final game to take the SWC title led by Run TMG - Tim Mason, Mike Wilson and Gerald Lewis.
Texas may have been SWC clincher, but Chad Allen put us in the dance with his shot vs. Rice. Otherwise, it would have been NIT for the ponies and Rice ...

Re: GAME THREAD: MBB at Virginia Tech
Not a great defensive game by SMU last night, especially inside and defending the three point line. VT scored way too many points in the paint. Samet did not do a great job of stopping them inside. He also did not handle the double team very well, VT was doubling him every time he got it low and he ...

Re: Other games of interest
NCSU shot a lot better last night in their game @ Duke hitting 10-22 threes and actually lead at halftime 37-33. Duke and Cooper Flagg came storming back in the 2nd half and won by 10 points but NCSU was competitive. What does that say about our game vs Duke? Did Duke play a great game in Moody or ...

Shadowman - did you know my old ETSU football pal, RB Ted Sample? His dad was the golf pro at a club where i worked - he would spend summers with us. Played in the USFL as I recall, Tulsa?

East Texas A&M? Does this school even exist?
Recent Name change, before was Texas A&M Commerce. And before that for many years was East Texas State who boasts the great Harvey Martin as their best player.

Heh,
Saw a stat on X this morning that SMU scored more points in the last 30 seconds than they had the previous 14 minutes! Man that is ugly, luckily Virginia was matching us, brick for brick!

Re: GAME THREAD: MBB at Virginia
Well,
We got lucky there. What an ugly game. SMU was stuck on 45 for about the last 5 minutes of the game which turned an 8 point lead to 2 point deficit. Then, we are down 5 with 30 seconds to go.
SMU then makes 3 three pointers in the last 30 seconds and a 82% FT shooter for Virginia misses ...
