Interesting note about the Cedric Benson court appearance...he was represented by an attorney from MIDLAND. I'm sorry, are there no criminal defense attorneys in Austin? Any speculation why someone from Midland has to come in and defend Benson? Just curious.

That's a great question. And a difficult question. Which is tragic. One should not have to wonder whether a victory against UTEP is possible or not. SMU should have far superior talent then UTEP. I say play the freshmen. Let them at least get some experience now so that they will be seasoned next ...

I always think that it's confusing to have a "live" mascot that is different from the real mascot. But then again, I'd rather not have an incident like what happened at TTU a few years ago with their full-sized horse...
