Re: Give Conner a shot, we have nothing to lose
Not specific to QB, but on all positions, why don't we ever substitute? I understand that everyone works to be a starter and the starter should get the most reps, but when you are down by 30 late in the game? When it's evident you don't have your "A" game? Are we really doing those players any good ...
Re: Receivers
Austin Fuller looked very strong in camp. He's big, strong, and fast and has good hands. He gets in the game some, but is never thrown to. He would seem to fit the need.

Re: Suit out all players for the home games
I'm not creative enough to have such an intriguing name as ghost. I could never pull that off. Thanks.

Re: Suit out all players for the home games
Thanks PonyPlayer4 for the answer. June's call - he's in charge. Just wondering. To clarify, it appears we usually travel and/or suit out at least 2 deep at a position - sometimes 3 deep. It all depends on needs for that week. That's just my understanding by seeing who is on the side-lines. I am ...

Re: Suit out all players for the home games
I know it's additional coordination on someone's part. Perhaps the meal and hotel could be bypassed if that's too much additional cost. Maybe the TCU & aTm games would be good ones if selecting a couple. As for parents - hopefully most at this point get it and understand it's Division 1 football ...

Suit out all players for the home games
How about letting all players suit out for the home games and be on the sidelines. A lot of teams do this and there are quite a few positives that come from it. All the boys work hard every week and getting to be on the sidelines to experience the game at that level could only help them. Our coaches ...

Mike Leach would make a splash. He will definitely be ready to come back to the state of Texas by then.

Re: Thompson to be Drated as a TE?
I've been watching Thompson since he was a freshman in High School. Coming from a High School that was run oriented, he did not get an impressive number of balls thrown to him. I can tell you that a very high percentage of balls that came his way were caught and defending against him was a nightmare ...

Re: How good is Taylor Thompson?
I thought the defense looked much productive with Frazier and Hunt in with Thompson. Taylor definitely gets a lot of attention by the opposing coaches and linemen and that is a good thing for our defense. Always taking a double team is a hard way to make a living but is indicative of what type of ...

Re: Injured UTEP Player?
I spoke with a parent of one of the UTEP players this morning. The injured player took a knee to the back of the head when he went low to block (the penalty). He got knocked out. That was the reason for having him taken off the field with that amount of care. You just can't be too careful ...

Re: Kickoff luncheon today
We are new to the SMU family this year. I attended the luncheon today and just wanted to say that SMU is doing it right. June is a class coach and a better man. Good things heading towards the hill! The players and alum were great. Sat with some freshman and they were very courteous and ready to ...

Re: Tuesday (7/5/11) voluntary workout notes
I am new to the football process at SMU, but looking forward to tracking the Mustangs this year. Can someone tell me what days the voluntary 7-on-7 drills typically take place? Thanks.
