Re: 3/26/14
The atmosphere at those games all year was just incredible. Many of the most rabid fans started getting priced out the following year, the in-game production was downgraded the year after that, then of course we know whatΓÇÖs happened most recently with the team and the reseat to completely ...

I said it at the time, and it stands today - my favorite sporting event IΓÇÖve attended in person. Electric atmosphere, the building was literally shaking, the finish, and then, right on cue, Sinatra

Re: See you guys in 12 months...
Put me down for the under on both 10 wins and 1500 (actual attendees) per game. This will be scary- bad basketball.

Ditto. Though it looks like I can sit in great seats pretty much any time I want for about 25% of the season ticket price on stubhub

Re: How fast to burn it down?
The reseat was a mistake. Jank has had a very short bench. Jank hasnΓÇÖt been able to close on some high profile recruits.
Only the latter is even partially his fault.
I still say let the season play out and have a strong plan if Jank doesnΓÇÖt exceed expectations.

Re: 2nd Recruit on Board for 2019
Posters say....
Give Jank a chance, look at our past success, be patient with him, you can't fire a successful coach, let's see how the new talent develops....blah blah blah
You people realize that we will be rolling out Nat Dixon, Everett Ray, Bryce Cook, Darrius McBride, Jahmar Young and Curtis ...

Re: 2nd Recruit on Board for 2019
Give me a break. He won all those games with LBΓÇÖs players, and would people please stop with the tired, illogical recruiting restrictions argument? Gang, he gave out 4 scholarships last year - the number wasnΓÇÖt the problem. ItΓÇÖs the players he used them on thatΓÇÖs the problem. And how heΓÇÖs ...

Re: 2nd Recruit on Board for 2019
Agree, except that it has not been slow-moving - the athletic department has been watching Jank strike out on one recruiting target after another for 1.5 years, hence the desperate money grab - I mean re-seat. To be fair, though, IΓÇÖd be surprised if anyone thought it would get this bad this fast

Re: 2nd Recruit on Board for 2019
I knew LB was an aberration, but I did not think the fall from grace would be this fast. This has been an amazingly bad exhibition of recruiting over the last year. IΓÇÖm wary of him doing the kind of damage June did by recruiting from his laptop from the beach for two years. Cut bait now?

In the words of Mike Rhyner, ΓÇ£aaaaaaaand ... weΓÇÖre done.ΓÇ¥ Looking on the bright side, in about 1.5 years IΓÇÖll be able to go back to sitting in the red seats for $3 on stubhub and listen to squeaking sneakers and the coaches calling out the plays without the distraction of all those pesky ...

Re: Reseating mission accomplished
SMU's Basketball program wasn't built on Top 100 players--it was largely built on transfers. Keith Frazier-a Top 100-was probably the biggest mistake of the era

Re: Reseating mission accomplished
lost me at "no good recruits in the pipeline"
I donΓÇÖt see any top 100 recruits projected to go to SMU right now outside of Maxey, who seems to be spending more time with coach Cal these days than his dad that we hired on staff. This is after two years of not recruiting a top 100 player.

Reseating mission accomplished
Despite the fact that most of us on this board are incredulous that SMU would carry out this PR disaster and manage to alienate many of its most loyal fans, my guess is that the re-seat accomplished exactly what it was designed to do: wring the last ounce of revenue from the fan base while the ...

Re: Memphis pursuing Penny as coach, LB as asst.
This is almost too depressing to even contemplate. In a season of terrible performance, a rash of injuries, getting booted from my season ticket seats, and no recruits to get excited about, this would be the ultimate kick to the crotch. Our best-ever coach to whom we showed the door goes to that ...
