SMU knew this was a possibility the day they hired LB. Something about a tiger not changing it's stripes....
But he's also a great guy and a better coach. That's the problem with punishing the school. Other than age there's no reason to believe that if he resigns he wouldn't get another good ...

Re: SMU to learn results of NCAA's investigation on Tuesday
WOW! This sucks. Larry Brown is a good guy and a great coach.
Are they making this his third strike type thing or using a harsh penalty on SMU to set up an quasi-death penalty on UNC or both?
My guess is they want Larry out. Do you think penalty would soften significantly if during appeal he ...

Re: Ref's angle on
What they should do is ... a hand signal from the ref but no whistle, like in hockey, play continues until a change of possession, a score, a foul, or dead ball. Then the play is reviewed. In other words let that play, play out. The score and clock can then be adjusted accordingly without prejudice ...

Re: Ref's angle on "goaltending"
I'm loving that home and home idea. given a little more time I'm pretty sure Rydel will too.
If SMU wanted a series, it may be doable. UCLA spent a lot of money recently revamping Pauley Pavilion and it hasn't been selling out. UCLA BB fans are spoiled. For example, they only hang National ...

Re: Ref's angle on "goaltending"
This video and others show Alford and the assistants motioning with their hands and screaming for goaltending and he happened to be standing right by their bench. He went with it, it happens. Still on us to play better.

Re: Ref's angle on "goaltending"
My suggestion is that you call your AD and suggest that UCLA set up a home and home with SMU starting this next year. I would love to see UCLA come to Moody - and I would be the first one purchasing an airline ticket to LAX to head to Pauley.
I'd be for that. Big Larry Brown fan. Not sure UCLA ...

Ref's angle on "goaltending"
This camera angle is about the same as ref's that made the call --> https://vine.co/v/OYz6QvA0DEr
Larry Brown is right, that call should be reviewable. However, considering Looney rebounded the shot in great position to score, it would have been possession UCLA if the call was reversed ...

Re: Official: NCAA TOURNAMENT THREAD (THAT'S NOT GOALTENDING
Yanick Moreira said the ref told him: "My hand hit the net first, that’s why he called it goal-tending." I don't know what the rule is on that.

Though a tough loss for you guys, I hope you guys truly understand what a fantastic coach you have in Larry Brown.
As a longtime UCLA and basketball fan, he is the easily the second best college coach I've seen in over 40 years of following college basketball. The only better coach was John Wooden ...
