Re: Realignment Update
time zone population % battle - here is my garbage data to match yours. Rest assured that while most people live on the East & Central time zones, the Pacific has a lot of people. The issue is that media companies want the late night games, thus there is a demand for the time slot that only the PAC ...

Re: Realignment Update
West Coast population is 25% of the US population, the same as the Central and just behind the East. The issue is TV wants a late night option and the West Coast (PAC12) is the only logical offering. The teams in the PAC12 would probably prefer to play at 5 to 7 Pacific rather than at 7:30, however ...

Re: More Pac-12 speculation
What I can't figure is that if the Pac-10 are in 30 day negotiations with ESPN / Fox, wouldn't they try to get there structure set before finalizing the media negotiations? None of the media outlets, nor blogs are mentioning this, so I am missing something.

I believe the members of the Football Foundation do the voting, which anyone that wants to pay for membership can join. Not a great way to do it, but there you are. To join, it costs $40/year or $1000 for lifetime membership. Check out the website to see more. footballfoundation.org.

Re: new DC hired
Key to comparing is to say while competition is lower, so is his recruiting base & players. What he is controlling is the play on the field based on similar quality players. This is a good hire based on what he got out of the players he had, against competition that had similar quality players. He ...
Re: New Staff
Tweets and leaking info are not the only way to be active. This a busy weekend and believe key decisions will be made on the staff. Next WiiΓÇÖs the big recruiting opportunity as many prospects will be on campus. Disappointment will be rightfully high if everything is settled by then

Re: Boom Sonny loses 2 more
Think both were told that other opportunities should be looked at. I don't think any 'ships will be pulled but hints about being recruited over may have occurred. New DT is being recruited hard and the JC OL signings are indications that the recruiting targets may have changed.

If youΓÇÖre into stats, new DC at UA led a D that was only two spots higher than OSU last year. Could do worse and have in the past
Re: New Staff
Everyone is at Coaches Convention this week - this is where most of the hiring is taking place. If you look at where new HC's have been hired, they are in similar situation i.e. half the staff isn't hired. Just because we haven't heard, doesn't mean they aren't doing anything. Assume that the staff ...
Re: UCF
Morris not coaching isn't as much an issue as him naming an interim head coach, then pulling him to Arkansas when it didn't go his way. The interim tag generally listed as only if he gets the full time gig. Many times coaches leave without coaching the bowl. The negative was that the assistants were ...

Re: Was The Rise Real?
Most new coaches don't have full staffs unless they brought them i.e. Scott Frost....Arkansas as of yesterday only has half a staff and he brought in bunch from SMU. The Coaches Convention is when most of this takes place - give it time.

Re: Sonny's staff/assistants
Still think it will be after the Coaches Convention (after NC Game). All of the players (coaches actually) will be in one place to interview. Recruiting will take place after the convention. An extra week won't matter in terms of recruiting and allows them to get a full staff hired.

Hope it works out for him. Would think it better to see what his draft stock would be before committing, but best success and thanks for the season.

Re: Boneyard Death watch.....
Stallion, we don't disagree with your position that more could be done for the program. What is not a valid argument is that Morris wouldn't leave. He took SMU to get back into Texas and re-establish his connections with TX HS coaches. He wasn't going to spend much more time here as his goal was to ...
