Re: ASU
By what objective measure is the B12 better as an overall conference to the PAC 12. Provide support and we can have a discourse. To me the PAC 12 is so much better, both academically and the media markets complementarity of the schools. Once the pac 12 adds SMU, itΓÇÖs game set over for the B12 as ...

Re: Realignment Update
I know that's the perception of the school -- old folks will remember the t-shirts with the BMW logo with the letters "SMU" around it -- but is it accurate? Apart from a handful of very generous alums, how extensive are our resources?
What? Very extensive. And when engaged/motivated they dwarf ...

Re: ASU
FF, question for you, who from the B12 really has the most disdain for SMU? i always assumed it was TCU because of the closer historical rivalry, the D vs FW battle, but it appears you believe it's Baylor?

Re: ASU
I will also add that I think that the B12 is playing dirty tactics with their smearing campaign. It's akin to bad politics and bad form by this conference, who is clearly afraid of being left as the worst of the P5 conferences. I suppose it's survival but at least try to play clean. I'm sure that ...

IΓÇÖve kept silent over this because I think the frogie is trolling. He is a Frog! Hello! I donΓÇÖt understand why people get a thrill trolling. I certainly wouldnΓÇÖt want to waist my time trolling frogs. If the PAC-12 crashes we just win games. On the other hand, frogs know if we go to the PAC 12 ...

Re: SMU/UCF Tournament Game
Some solid players coming back.
ECU and Tulsa coaches were also new. Yikes!
At least ECU won a game.
Is Jerome Tang at KSU the best newcomer coach of the year, replacing a fired coach?
Dennis Gates at Missouri deserves a nod for building a roster from scratch aside from one Cuonzo Martin ...

Re: Third PAC Target "Confirmed"
I have been reading the readers comments on John Canzano's March 4 post re the PAC 10 media negotiations and potential expansion. The article and the comments are encouraging. His takeaway is that despite wild rumors neither Oregon or Colorado have any interest in leaving the PAC for the Big 12 ...

Re: Third PAC Target "Confirmed"
Wasn't Colorado State's President Albert Yates, one of the key instigators of the airport meeting that split the WAC 16? I know its been a long time, water under the bridge and so forth, but that really pissed me off, and hurt a LOT of programs for a few years.
And Yates, as I recall had many ...

Keep the current Pac-12, and add us, San Diego State, Tulane and Colorado State. There are a lot of appealing travel trips for fans in that alignment.

SMU is close to AAU status. Strong Engineering and Science programs are key.
Business schools contribute little to nothing to a given Universities AAU status.
Important to note that many AAU schools are not super academic. I think Nebraska

Re: Oregon report on expansion/realiginment, media partners
John Canzano, a longtime columnist for The Oregonian who now is at Substack and also a prominent Portland sports radio guy, reports the Big 12 has had ΓÇ£multiple conversationsΓÇ¥ with Fresno State, while the Pac-12 has had limited contact with the Bulldogs. On Pac-12 expansion candidates, Canzano ...

Sounds to me like someone has their fingers crossed that they'll be able to claim academic prestige kept SMU out of the Pac12.... Which, whatever, you do you.

Re: Joint statement from the 10 Pac-12 conference board memb
What seems clear to me is Kliavkoff made a strategic miscalculation and/or listened to the wrong consultants if he believed he could get a media deal done without clarity on the lineup/product he was selling. The leak of his trip to SMU validated rumors to that effect, and may force him to bring SMU ...
