Re: What's going on with the M Band???

Possibly lots of things. Some let down that Athletics continues to slash their budget and scholarship $$ are way down, so it's harder to recruit. At least that's what I hear from a student. No support anywhere.

Mack Brown is UT's problem not SMU's. Let concentrate on June Jones.

Re: Cost to attend SMU $57,756

Hey, as a parent of a current SMU student, I think I have a say. When he first comitted to SMU, his scholarships covered maybe 85% of tuition, disregarding the huge fees. Now its down to closer to around 50%. He also has a scholarship with the band, but is lucky to keep it since they have been ...

Current students are a little frustrated and feel overlooked in the campaign. Scholarships for returning students haven't been adjusted, although tuition has been raised 5-6% per year to pay for the new residential halls, and ...

Re: welcome to Arkansas Mr. Ford

It will be interesting to watch. They bought it very cheap but they are having to put in a lot of capital. Do not know how Mr. Ford operates, but if he wants someone to give him 2 good years I would be interested in talking to his people.
I worked with Jerry 20 years ago before he made the ...

Re: Tech Student Newspaper Calls out Raider Student Body

In the last 15 years I have never heard a visiting fan say anything positive about a trip to a Tech game. Their fans are jerks and its almost universal.
I had a family member go to Disco Tech back in the 70's and it was a laid back West Texas town. The fans at the SMU game did their team a ...

Re: Could June ever have this kind of passion?

1 Oh, the same guy who runs our team off the field, tail tucked between their legs while the band is ready to play Varsity. So what if you lost to Tulane, stick around for the alma mater and own up to it.

He did it other games as well, such as Rice last year. It's a short alma mater - give me a ...

Re: 2014 US News Rankings released

Totally agree on the endowment. That is where our focus should be for the foreseeable future. Hopefully our bumped up campaign goal will be primarily in that area. We need to hit 2B to think about getting moved well up the rankings - and we are only 700M short of that.

We do have some awesome ...

Re: 2014 US News Rankings released

These comparisons make my head ache and I'm not a huge fans of the ratings. With a kid in college, I've been through this process and I find the anaylsis flawed. For example, Oklahoma offers automatic full scholarships to National Merit Scholars. Tulane offers free application and scholarships to ...

Re: Montana State Fans were awesome

Agreed: MSU 1, Disco Tech 0 as to the fan deal.

We usually move over behind the band at some point, welcomed as band fans. During the Tech game, the Alumni Band asked some Tech fans to leave the reserved section and were answered with obscenities (in front of children), later enforced by stadium ...

Re: Rutgers fan coming to Dallas in October

Hey, we're glad that you can come. welcome to Dallas! You will probably need a rental car, but not for the game. The Mockingbird train station just across US75 offers free parking and a free shuttle to and from the game. SMU "tailgates" on the boulevard, which is the main street into campus, tree ...

That would be "rooting" for the team.

So sorry for the typo.
