Re: Local TV Coverage of SMU v UTEP

Derek Castillo (KXAS, Ch. 5) shows the SMU highlights following stories about the Mavericks and the Stars. SMU goes ahead of story about OU and OSU game. (And this is the FT. WORTH STATION!)

Joe Trahan (WFAA, Ch. shows Mavs and then a 'reader' about Texas, then Kansas and Iowa State then OU v OSU ...

This year...

Usually Tech and A&M put up a fight.
OU and OK State are pretty much Texas schools enrollment wise and in sports. They aren't too good this year either.

Please, stop talking about this. It's dumb. The majority of Dallas at present doesn't give a crap about SMU Athletics much less SMU in general. The paper is the Dallas Morning News. Not the SMU or Park Cities Morning News. When we become Dallas's college football team again which may never happen ...

It is way too soon to "pull the plug" on Fran.
I think "big picture" people in Aggieland will prevail.
Coach Fran will be given more time.

It's nice to see the aggies down. I really don't care what happens to them.

Back to SMU now...

Guys, I'm going to have to agree with the frogs on this one. All that matters in college athletics these days is fans (however sad that may be). We don't have a chance and have done nothing other than get some old rivals at Ford to diminish this problem. The C-USA west has major attendance problems ...

It's a blowout either way. Both teams seem unsure of themselves. One of them is going to come out of this one with some confidence. The team that gets down on itself gets killed (sort of like the Tulane game, but worse).

I'll say:
SMU 35
ECU 13

When that one of 14 is assumed to be in power, yes. If you don't like being in power or people assuming you are in power or you don't want to take responsibility for something you shouldn't become its supposed leader. Simple as that.
That is perhaps the most ignorant post in the history of posting ...

I've been telling ALL of ya'll about the Div. 1-AA schools (*NOT* Div. II...that's another category below!) like Sam Houston State, Southwest Texas State, Stephen F. Austin, Northwestern, McNeese, etc. for a long time.

Texas State changed its name a couple of years ago because - as the school ...

sooooooo 1/14th of the decision making power of the city is responsible for all of it's problems.....that makes sense.

This is not DIAA. It's a rung down from that...DIV II.

Re: Lone Star Conference Leader

From today's Star-Telegram --

Junior Quarterback Richard Bartel, a Grapevine High School graduate who transferred to Tarleton State from SMU last fall, was named the Lone Star Conference South Division Offensive Player of the Week. He completed 18 of 26 passes for 308 passing yards and three ...

I'm sorry, is scoring 20 whole points running up the score for some??? I mean I hate A&M for what they did, too...but 20????? We better score at least 30 if we want to win #2. I don't see anything bad about trying to beat your points total. Let's go for 24 at least. Then we might have a chance to ...

Tulane Scoring

Don't know where the arrogance from the Tulane fans come from look at their message board). They have not been good of late. Shouldn't look past this one. I will bet my life that they will not score more than 3 touchdowns on offense against us Saturday. There's no way someone other than a big 12 ...
