Re: SMU football camps for recruits -- all in Dallas
I'm going to venture a guess that he meant he didn't know anything about the kid (caliber of player, likelihood he will be a mustang etc). But I thought the one liners were pretty clever

This is the type of guy we should beat BU for. Depth guy for them. Starter for us

Re: SMU's first 2015 commitment coming on Saturday
I would be surprised if we are his last offer. I think we'll get him because he wants to stay close to home and told Baylor he already decided on SMU because Baylor was too far away...wonder if TCU is also too far...

Re: SMU offers Aledo 2015 WR Ryan Newsome
The reality is that some guys will want to be stars rather than take up roster spots and ride the pine at places like Bama. SMU is one such opportunity. We shouldn't lose out on all of those. But we need someone who can actually sell the program.

Re: Larry Austin
LB's stated philosophy is that only 2 positions exist: guard and center. I think if Austin is willing to play 2 our point or both off the bench next year, we should try to get him committed. My optimistic side thinks the Cornish news might mean we found a better fit

Re: OT: Texas Rangers University Days
UTA has a current player starting on the rangers (Michael Choice) and a D1 baseball program and was not included. But I think we should be bothered by this too. The demographic we're looking for are general CFB fans....most rangers fans fit that category.

Re: Do the SMU coaches think we have a chance against Baylor
[quote="Stallion"]hasn't SMU lost their last 2 trips to Denton. I'm not going to predict a defeat right now but anyone thinking that is going to be a roll-over doesn't know jack
Yep. with Forrest Gregg and Phil Bennett. All time series is 28-4.
We will crush UNT with fury.

Re: Do the SMU coaches think we have a chance against Baylor
My son is going to Baylor in the Fall. Cannot wait for the game, which happens to be on my birthday.
BEAT BAYLOR
I feel bad for you, but Baylor is on my "you're on your own list" aka "you better get a scholarship and don't expect me to visit" list. This would never happen in my household...

Re: Smu Football: Staying Positive
Yeah right [deleted] I was the first SMU fan to note that SMU's coaching staff, recruiting coordination, emphasis and effort were ridiculous- a long time before E.J. even appeared as a correspondent for an SMU site. As I've have said many times-this is a problem that started on DAY ONE of the June ...

Cheerleading Camp starts at 7:30
Pom Pom Squad at 8
There are serious endemic problems in this football program. BTW I predicted SMU exact record in the preseason last year in the preseason and then proceeded to pick all 12 games correctly. I'm a realist-and we are in worse condition next year ...

Strong QB play could turn 4-8 into 8-4. I'm pretty hopeful about this one. At least need competition for Burcham. The freshmen look like they could be good, but both probably need some development. Would love to see a true duel threat in Colbert in all honesty. With Gresham back there, they could ...
