Re: CFP selection show
Does this foreshadow SMU/Liberty decision? Committee showed they value best team/eye test more than just wins (good for SMU) but also showed they value injuries (not good for SMU with Stone going down a la Jordan Travis). Liberty has a soft conference/SOS and no great win. Hopeful!

Re: Would Gary Patterson come to SMU?
Fair point, at least he's got a track record of longevity, and moving a team from G5 to P5. Something to be said for that, but still a hard no for me due to what he did specifically to SMU during his tenure.

Re: Would Gary Patterson come to SMU?
Should we pursue him? I'd say absolutely not, due to the rivalry. I don't like him, but I respect what he was able to accomplish at TCU. GP turned down multiple better offers to stay at TCU and build something. We need to find our own version of him, but not him IMO. Hoped SD was that guy; oh well ...

Re: Why is Sonny being allowed to coach tomorrow?
I donΓÇÖt understand how anyone should not be pissed off at Dykes for his behavior. Telling recruits to decommit while employed at SMU should be enough to have wrath at the SOB, but to do that against your biggest football rival only the devil does that. There are certain unwritten rules in sports ...

Re: The Downward Trend Continues
I got the feeling watching the first half that we were completely selling out against the run. Thought Navy would try to adjust and hoped they wouldn't be competent enough to do so. They were. Couple that with our defense being on the field almost the entire 3rd quarter due to consecutive 3 and outs ...

Re: Who is our Larry Brown hire?
He's in Gainesville in some official capacity. Not AD and not coaching. He's who i initially came up with when thinking about the scenario, but it sounds like he's pretty entrenched at UF.

Doesn't matter, everyone would go nuts for him to be back on the hilltop!!!!! Too funny.
So it seems the "realistic" names on this line of thinking would be Les Miles and Mack Brown. Anyone else we're not thinking of?

Re: Coaching Football at SMU is an Attractive Job
Hah...sure the campus is great, but it's just a stepping stone job and always will be. Nobody likes coaching in front of 8,000 fans.
This is exactly my point from the other thread about Larry Brown. Did we pack Moody before LB? No. Do we now? Yes. It's possible that the same thing could happen in ...

Re: Who is our Larry Brown hire?
Nothing comparable available in football but Todd Graham would probably be the best bet at setting us up for success in the future leaving us with a coordinator that can take over as soon as he jumps ship. At this point I don't even think he would get the opportunity to jump ship unless we really ...

Who is our Larry Brown hire?
Larry Legend fell into our laps and totally changed the culture of our program by his mere presence. Now Moody is packed and we contend for conference titles regularly. There was baggage and he didn't do it all perfectly but he certainly left the program better than he found it and willed it down to ...

QB run with 9 seconds left. Called down on field, very close. Review stands. It looked like his hand/elbow and the ball were down shy of the goal line as his legs were still in the air spinning toward the end zone. Take the W and let's go bowling!

Think they shut down a while back, but hears of them up in Waynesville.

Both Bryson and Waynesville are close by. Definitely a small world. In Highlands, look up Old Edwards, I work for the Golf Club which will be closed but the property is phenomenal and the Inn/Spa are incredible. Again, Go Ponies!!
