I was! As an engineering student, I never took classes from Donald Barthelme OR Edward Albee...although we did read both in one of my English classes. In fact, I enjoyed both of them immensely! Much better than the Thucydides we had to read in the Honors College... :(

You guys use cowbells? Isn't that a Tech thing? You throwing tortillas on the field too?

Its not an air raid siren, its an oil field siren and we have our fake wannabe cowboys manning an oil field siren! Some of us don't get it either.

C'mon, Norb...everyone who's ever seen a John Wayne movie ...

And they wonder why Houston is the fattest city in America. Way to go coogs.

Actually, if you believe those Men's Fitness polls, Houston is only the 5th fattest city in America this year! (Dallas is #4, btw)

On the other hand, if you believe the Money Magazine poll, you'd also know that ...

Re: I think I work with the most annoying Houston Fan in Texas

His son is a Houston player who is redshirting this year. He claims Kolb is the best quarteback in the state of texas, he claims blowouts, and all kinds of ridiculous things. I am greeted every morning with sticky notes and newspapers guessing what the score will be this weekend. I am trying to be ...

Personally I narrowed my search down to the two schools offering a scholarship (easy decision, eh?).

Those two schools were Texas A&M and the University of Houston.

It didn't take more than 5 minutes on the campus of Texas A&M to mark that one off the list.

Conversely, it didn't take me ...

Let's see. I learned advanced grammar as an 8th grader in junior high. My father didn't pay a cent for my knowledge of the English language.
He paid for a more nuanced study of Rhetoric at SMU: literature, argument analysis & creation, compelling research, etc. Nice to know that UH is making sure ...

I like the wind-break pattern of your trees. It reminds me of my youth in Dust Bowl-era Oklahoma. You just don't see enough of that anymore.

Since trees are native to Houston, our Spanish moss covered live oaks ...

Dang it, don't tell them where a 7-11 is or they will never return to that rat hole in the south

I thought that Plano would be far enough away from the HillTop. And I hope that Timmy isnt talking about this cashier.

I love those 7-11 microwave burritos!

The nachos are even better... especially if you add chilli sauce. Once you get done eating the chips that come with the nachos, Doritos ranch flavor chips are awesome to scoop up the remaining cheese!

Have you had it deep fried?

That's where it's at ...

Instead of posting on a board, perhaps you should be practicing the line (,) "Sir, do you want fries with that (?) " Wouldn't want another UH taking your job because he is better qualified.

And perhaps you should brush up on your grammar skills before denigrating another's education.

Why else do you think we're looking forward to this weekend?!?

The city of Dallas ain't the attraction...we just want your money, microwave burritos and that hot cashier behind the counter.
