Re: SMU No. 1

our only year at the top given this OL class lacked both the luxury of "learning years" and NFL possibilities...future OL classes will hopefully reach their jr / sr campaign having sat, learned and bulked up

This and Padron's maturation in 3rd year are the best leading indicators of a good season ...

Re: #4 in the country...

This is just a sour grapes comment. Not sure what you are looking for. Top 10 Texas, OU, Florida have each struggled badly at points this year. TCU was clearly superior in every way tonight. We hung with them for 2.5 quarters, at which point the law of averages and the law of the superior 2-deep ...

Re: Hey Patterson!

GP really makes for a great villain on the other side of this game. The thin-skinned commentary coming out of Ft Worth this week made me think that, if we ever have a truly legit squad out there, this could be a nice prickly rivalry. And it's a perfect offset to Jones' who-cares-about-TCU-I-am-an ...

Re: Padron: Improved, still inconsistent

BLM, give me a break. Have you no memory. Padron is going to be just fine.

Opposing d-coordinators now have 10 games of film on the kid. He has not yet adjusted to being game planned. He has no productive over-the-middle receiver. His 5-9 WRs are invisible running through BCS-level secondaries. He ...

Mac Engel and his "15 people in Dallas who care"

Can go stick it. Then stick it again.

Looked like a capacity, 70%-red crowd to me tonight.

Re: Who Else Won't Sleep Tonight?

Our nonconference schedule in hoops is actually high comedy. What a collection of turds. Not that we have any place to be calling someone else a turd. TCU is our only non-conference opponent that ranks as a true D-1 by football standards.

Re: SMU tv show

I recognize that this may have been a "test run" and so they didn't want to publicize it in case there wasn't time to get the editing done. And so I hate to use all caps but sometimes it helps if you shout at people. So:

THIS SHOW WAS OUTSTANDING. PLEASE KEEP IT UP. PLEASE DO MORE OF THIS. PLEASE ...

Re: I Question Padron's Toughness

I thought the reason Padron spiked the ball was because he thought he had fumbled the ball on the sack and wanted to run a play before TV Replay. Nothing else makes any sense. I thought he fumbled it but this possibility flew over commentators heads and ESPN never showed a replay

my thoughts ...

Re: Character counts

I'll fifth all of that. The one thing I thought was a certainty was that physically Tech would wear us down by the 3rd quarter and slowly pull away to a large margin of victory. None of those things happened. We belonged on the field with those guys.

My only complaint was that the body language ...

went back to find the doh quote I posted from the DMN when JJ was hired.

Doherty said he's already felt the bump Jones' hire is giving to SMU athletics as a whole.

"We’re serious about athletics," Doherty said. "I think everybody in the ...
