Re: Big 12 commish: "come on, we want to play, too"

How long until there are 32 or 64 teams playing in the playoff?

It will require guaranteed money for all players, just because of the physical beating young guys would be taking.

But TV dictates everything, and if more TV dollars can be had, you have to think that more playoff rounds are coming.

Re: Pony Award winners

In many years, Yigotolu would be freshman of the year.
But Sitz was amazing, and deserves it.

Re: VIDEO: Casey Woods talks offense (including TEs) recruit

Those who remember SMU's days in the WAC might remember Boise State coming in and rolling out a 4-tight end set every now and then, which appeared to completely baffle the defense. This sounds like a group that can offer the same options.

Re: Cool story about SMU alum Jeremy Gray in NFL

Think how many former football players would like to coach, but never get the opportunity. He's really lucky to have the chance he has. Sure, his dad opened some doors for him, but it sounds like he is making the most of his opportunity.
Cool story.

Damn! Nothing is ever set in stone these days...
I pay less attention to recruiting than I once did, because more than ever, until a player signs, nothing is even close to set.

Plus, it's cold and gross. Have you ever been to Indiana in the fall/winter?
Ugh. It's a great advertisement for hopping a plane to a beach somewhere.

Re: SMU picked #1 in ACC

Totally agree. Sure, we all want to finish higher than that, but for the first go-round in a new conference, that would represent a good start.

I can't wait to see Brashard Smith. Didn't someone on the staff say he might be the fastest guy on the entire roster?

"They are probably going to be out of it this week I am guessing, but they have been in it about 8 or 9 weeks in a row."

When I read that, I thought he was talking about being out of it, like uninterested. Hope not.

Go football, go soccer. Looking forward to both.

I hate to see this. Reich has had a bad run of luck with that ankle.
Hopefully the repairs hold this time.
Good luck!

Re: Men's soccer lands Akron transfer

"The future of US Soccer"?

Has SMU ever gotten a transfer in any sport who has that kind of hype?

Congratulations to the Mustangs and the coaches! This has turned out to be an incredibly exciting offseason.

Let's not overlook Richardson's role on special teams.

I don't suppose there's a chance Cougar High would let him sign with us, right? Surely his release was limited, wasn't it?
