Re: Observations after watching the tape

I thought the line did take a step back when Hyder went in.
Weeks (and the line) was terrific.

Re: Matt Davis

McCarty is a big loss. No, he's not Larry Allen, but the line is super-thin. We're not in a position to lose anyone, especially someone who has had reps with the first team.

How about the (probable) redshirts on the bench? Their energy and enthusiasm was infectious after years of the sideline being completely stale and lifeless.

Times, they are a-changin'.

Re: Houston Chronicle Spotlite on Rodney Clemons

I saw an article in some community newspaper, and now I can't find it, but it made this guy sound like the second coming of Sean Taylor or Ronnie Lott, for us older PonyFans. I'm really curious to see what this guy turns out to be.

Is this the missing piece for this class? Hope he's an interior guy, because we don't have that many DTs coming back, although if that's the case, he needs to get bigger. But it sounds like good bloodlines, if nothing else.
Welcome, Chris!

Re: Mack?

I don't know, I just can't see this happening, even a courtesy interview. The money it would take to sign MB would be FAR better spent on a young, hungry up-and-coming coach.

Who gives a damn? Just about everyone wanted him gone, and maybe he wanted out, too. Now he's gone. History.

Re: How do we build up SMU Swagger and dominate the AAC?

If you have to ask how to acquire swagger, you will never have it

We are doing it in Basketball...and we can do it in Football.
True, but recruiting in football and recruiting in basketball are entirely different. That's not to say it can't be done in football, I don't see why not, but it's a ...

Re: 2015 Football Commits

I don't know that it's aiming high or low. It seems that the coaches don't give a damn who else has offered a kid. If they like him, they'll offer. Sometimes they hit, sometimes they miss. But it seems like they view their own evaluation above what others think, which I assume most or all coaches do.

Re: Houston Lamar LB Kyran Mitchell commits to SMU

We're losing Pope, Joyner and Henderson, and this guy sounds like a good athlete from a winning program that plays top competition. He probably won't have to play right away, and if nothing else, Mason has shown he can develop linebackers.
Keep that Lamar pipeline flowing.
Welcome to SMU, Kyran!
