Re: Warrie Birdwell and Lute Croy

FYI, Helmey has decided to drop out of the program. As a walk-on, he didn't really see much light at the end of the tunnel and 2 years of scout team is enough. He was probably too small at 250 for DT and too slow for DE. FYI, Adami was moved to DT last year and will be the 6th DT along with the new ...

Re: No One's Talking

Well, I think that you have hit the nail on the head. As the old saying goes, "love me or hate me, just don't ignore me." I'm afraid we have hit the worst point of all...no one cares!

I was at the Rice game and I was really expecting a win. It even seemed that there was a decent SMU crowd, the ...

Re: Strength and Conditioning

This is a sore subject with me. My son is one of the few walk-ons coming back from last year. He arrived at fall camp at 250 trying to get a DE spot. He lost 8-10 lbs by the end of camp. During camp he was asked to move to DT and told that he needed to gain 15-20lbs. He decided to join the red-shirt ...

Re: DMN article

Not that I'm defending the play calling or the coaching in the Houston game. But if you read the article, I would say that throwing behind the reciever, running the wrong route, and not calling time out or changing the play when you see the wrong defense is poor execution. As hard as everyone played ...

Re: Season Outlook Part II: Predictions

Overall, I think that we are looking at a 8-4, or 7-5 season after a win vs. Kansas. I remember the last scrimmage of the 2-a-day camps last year and watching essentially the scout team defense stuff the first team offense and thinking this could be a long season...The offense looks like it is light ...

Re: Defensive Line

I agree, Patman is a solid performer and should get lots of pt, especially as they rotate D-linemen this year. After watching the Spring game, one scrimmage and several practices, we have 3 solid DE's in Aldridge, Pratt and Patman. After that the 4th, and mabe 5th position is up for grabs. Hrncir ...
