For those of you who think Dement hasn't had enough time to turn it around: I encourage you to read this article in ESPN about the turnaround of BYU basketball.

Re: Mike Dement
Wow, it seems like just two weeks ago everybody told me this team was on the turnaround, and that any talk of Dement firings was premature.
I guess some people actually went to games to watch that tenacious D.
Everything Frank said is right. And, Castro is still the best player.

Re: Coach, Not Refs, Is to Blame
Back to the original title subject of this thread...coaching. Start with fundamentals: defense, passing, shot selection. These are things that you coach, and that you stress as a coach. Look at Tech. Shooting at will: this is something that happens without coaching. Look at SMU.

Re: Copeland Needs to Take a Hike!
Texas is not interested unless we want to go down there and get punished, they will not play in Dallas, not enough $ for them. Anyway, you have plan 3-4 years out for that.
Baylor should be a great rivalry, and give SMU an opportunity to take down a Big 12 team.

To be honest, I have no idea. I thought you were doing it on purpose. I just click the "Post Reply" button at the bottom of the thread, and it seems to work.

Ringer, no offense, but please quit cutting and pasting everybody's full messages before you reply. That person knows what they said.

Re: Dement article
With all due respect, I do not think that it is wise to handle basketball coaches as "long term investments."
If you have been following SMU basketball and going to games as long as I have, you would agree that this long term investment is taking an awfully long time to pan out. And, I think you ...

Re: Dement article
I would say Copeland cares just enough to get by, and not enough to get better. There is no excuse that SMU basketball has tread water during Dement's tenure, and there is no excuse that plans are not already in place for renovations to Moody or a practice gym.
That being said, it does appear ...

Re: Mustang Kurt is officially...
As a longhorn and mustang fan, I like it when Kurt posts there. UT is not adverse to SMU, so it just information, not bragging. Some of you recruiting newbies might read Hornfans to get an idea of good posts and opinions.
That being said, Kurt's enthusiasm is great, but be careful how excited you ...

Re: College Cup
This post has become confusing.
Could someone explain (Bergermeister?) why you want turf so bad? Compare Texas Stadium to Royal Memorial Stadium (where UT plays). Grass looks better, and creates less injuries. If you don't believe me, ask Deion Sanders' toe. Granted, it looked bad on TV during ...

Re: MUSTANG makes National Team
Daniel was the best player to play at SMU, and is stronger all-around than Walsh. Hernandez did not have the supporting cast that Walsh has been blessed with. Hernandez is still going up, and you will hear much more of him. Prampin was a like a bulldozer, though, and for some reason is still my all ...

Re: Diego Walsh got robbed
SMU had a good team. SMU lost to Boston College. Boston College sucked, and was demolished by Creighton 6 to 2. Had they not given up late goals, SMU would not have been forced to lose in PK's (again), and SMU would have had another chance at Stanford, who I agree was far and away the best team in ...

Re: College Cup
Soccer (or football, for that matter) should not be played on turf. It causes (almost solely) many horrible injuries to knees, toes and ankles, and it makes the ball go too fast.
the field was not as bad as it looked on tv, though the numbers were atrocious.
