No idea what kind of renovation you're proposing. Certainly not adding seats- maybe some chairbacks in the nicer seats?. Videoboard is fine and recently redone. Maybe get good WiFi throughout the stadium.

East,
Yeah I think we can put chairbacks in the lower seating areas. WIFI would be cool. Nothing structural or major. Ford is great but could use a little touch up here in the next decade.
Back off Warchild seriously.

I'd rather spend that $ on an IPF first

8 wins didn't work a few years back and the crowd against Central Florida at home after the biggest win in years against TCU showed the problem is much deeper at SMU than just winning football games.

8 wins in CUSA/AAC won't do it. We need to be winning 10+ games a season in this conference to start dragging more butts in seats. (See TCU)

Bottom line is when we are not only playing a competitive schedule, but actually beating a school that a casual fan has heard of - that is what will bring fans. Winning 8 games in CUSA is not going to draw a crowd in.
Being Undefeated at home and playing the reigning national champions is what brings people to Moody. A great team playing a great schedule.

That game was Thanksgiving weekend and people were home so you are right.
No- it was in October. The excuse the June Haters give is that it was the same day as a Rangers ALCS game or something. Say what you want about JJ, but he had every right to be pissed that the place wasn't full- beautiful day, rematch against defending CUSA champs, and right on the heels of the biggest win for the program since the DP and Ford was 1/2 full.

I don't think we should make renovations unless: 1) We start winning 8+ games a year or 2) to entice a great coach to come to SMU
Our problem should never be enticing a great coach; it should be keeping a great coach. Unfortunately, we do neither.

I don't know about an expansion to Ford but more butts-in-seats would be a nice addition.
