I does not have to be the I, but we need some new running formations and fast. A&M will eat us up on that inside handoff stuff - this guy gets a look for the gap from just a little farther back and we could have something special.

I think it was also helpful that Martin ran almost the exact offense at Allen High School. I'm not taking anything away from his abilities or performance.

He understands the offense and knows the type of patience and reads he needs to make. I saw him do this with Allen for his entire senior season, it was kind of freaky to see it again. Even moving him out to a reciever and catching that touchdown was unusually similar.

There is no doubt in my mind that Martin can repeat this type of performance each week (maybe not three touchdowns but surely 100 yards and some quality carries). I think we have a new starter. At least I hope.

I would also like to see Massey back there. He showed some flashes of talent for his second week in a row. SMU could possibly be in good hands with those two for at least the next three years (Martin...four years!!).

Anyone know where I can get my hands on some clips of him?

Martin's TD catch came out of the backfield. There was play action and he just continued to the back corner. Although I also watched him in HS and he would split out then.

I just remember the conversation I had around 3pm on Saturday with one of the boards sponsors. I was talking about how Martin is supposed to be getting some snaps this week. Both being Allen and SMU alums we both saw him as a senior in high school. His comments were that he was not that impressed with Martin at Allen. He saw him early in the year and then the SL Carrol game. I told him it was later in the regular season and in the playoffs that I was impressed. He just seemed to get better as the game and the season wore on. As the defenses got tougher, so did he. We agreed to disagree and off we went to the game.

I was at the game with my wife, my 12 year old daughter, and her posse of friends that are now in love with SMU football(still think the cute guy factor is high despite the fact that they enjoyed the game). So we had our little Allen cheering section at the 20. We then get another friend of ours that went to Allen(and Notre Dame) and her SMU husband. Once Martin got going we were loving it. I called my buddy in the beautiful people section and informed him that he was no longer the greatest Allen/SMU player ever.

The one thing I liked about Martin is that he always moves the pile and there is no dancing around. He just hits the hole and keeps on going. He also seems to get better as the game goes on. If only I did not have to coach my son's baseball game on Saturday we would be flying into A&M for the game down there. I am looking forward to the Tulane game though!

He went wide out on a couple of snaps Saturday, but did not see a pass from there.

I saw that, my point was the TD was from the backfield not the slot as the previous post stated

I know, and my point was that he lined up wide on Saturday.
