Some of the questions are obviously a bit loaded, but it's a good survey. I thought it needed more options for comments/explanations though.

I can only imagine what some of the responses were...

Many of the questions need to be divided into separate football and basketball questions

They did have one question which asked and I am paraphrasing "From your experience in SMU Basketball, what can we do in other athletic events to promote attendance/enjoyment?"

Definitely-"are you more or less positive about SMU athletics based on the last year"

Two completely different answers for FB and Basketball-I weighted it to a negative answer because Football pays the bills and defines our future in big time college athletics but it should have been 2 different questions

The excitement level around SMU basketball trumps anything that I have seen since I have been associated with SMU (14 years). This basketball season gave me hope that if SMU throws its full weight into an athletic endeavor that it can be nationally relevant.

The apathy level of SMU football going into the 2014 season is as bad as I can remember. The only season that I can remember less enthusiasm was the year after the 0-12 season and we didn't fire Bennett. That was the all-time low. This upcoming season reminds me a lot of that one.

The two sports could not be headed in more diametrically opposite directions. SMU basketball is headed for national prominence with a HOF coach, sensational recruiters, and NBA-bound players in a state of the art renovated Moody. SMU football is headed for the graveyard with a lame duck coach that refuses to recruit and does absolutely nothing to embrace the community or fans. Rick Hart's signature hire is waiting after this football season. We will know then what sort of AD we've got.

First I've heard of this. Please elaborate.

Yeah earth-shattering news right? There's also this minor detail involving Arizona State but I didn't want to pile on.

I would have like to have seen more pointed questions and more area for explanation. At least its a start, I wrote as much as I could in the limited space they gave me. Bring on the '14 FB and BB seasons!

I agree. I think it was particularly the last two questions I didn't like. I wanted to answer one way for BB and completely opposite way for FB.

The survey was fine. I'm sure they will continue to tweak this process as time goes on. What did you want them to do -- ask 45 questions pertaining to each sport? Right on cue, the gang of 30 has to constantly complain over everything. Ridiculous.
