I was a wrestler and did some crazy things to make weight. Nothing says fun like jumping jacks in a rubber suit in the steamroom. But, I don't recall anyone trying to lose more than 30 pounds in a week.
30 may be closer to correct. I worked with some All American wrestlers from Okie State and Oklahoma years ago and they would tell stories of how much weight they would lose in a short period and then put it all back on between the weigh in and match.
