Keep the big bold "SMU" on the front of the jersey. Looks great. These are the uniforms we should keep from now until the end of time.

Wonder if we'll still be stuck w/ those goofy thin-striped helmets???

Thankfully, ours don't look anywhere near UCLA-ish:

Of course, we could have gone with something truly awful, like this:

I think the current jerseys look great- all that needs to change now is put the stripes back on the pants and make the helmet stripes wider.

When I think of SMU Football, I think of McElhenny pitching the ball to James/Dickerson.

That image is absolutely stuck in my head. Add a cold Texas Stadium seat, coeds in plaid, and the constant blaring of Peruna by the band and the scene is complete.

...don't forget "convict Peruna" in horizontal pinstripes with the ball-and-chain.

I don't get the criticism of the oversized "SMU" on the chest. Seems to work just fine for Texas and Oklahoma.

And that is what I meant - SMU = 80s = Blue = Pony Express.

Of course since I got into school in 83, I think of McElhenny to Dupard/Atkins.
