Yes we will.......in basketball......in 2015 They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Mac Engel: Devonte Fields will not return to TCUSFA, isn't that where JaBryce Taylor went as well? Everyone gives the D1 programs hell for accepting these guys, but no one bats an eye when 1AA accepts anyone and everyone no matter their transgressions.
Re: Mac Engel: Devonte Fields will not return to TCUGlad to see him gone. I can't and won't pull for someone who beats women. Our D will be good and our O hinges on QB play. We very easily coule have won 8 games last year. Baylor, k state, tech, west va for sure were winnable. Who knows but I am happy that he Fields is gone.

TCU has basically blocked his transfer
Re: Mac Engel: Devonte Fields will not return to TCUThe skeptic in me thinks TCU doesn't want him to transfer under academic suspension because that would be a 2 unit strike against them under their desperate APR situation

Re: Mac Engel: Devonte Fields will not return to TCU
Interesting, but please explain what "a 2 unit strike against them under their desperate APR situation" means.
Re: Mac Engel: Devonte Fields will not return to TCUYou lose 1 unit for a player that leaves your school without graduating
You lose a second unit for a player that leaves not in good academic standing The scores for each scholarship player is added up and the NCAA calculates a 1 year APR and a revolving 4 year average Fields would be the second 2 unit strikes and they are in serious jeopardy of failing to meet NCAA APR requirements which could result in a bowl ban. TCU has 2 straight years of bombing their 1 year scores. I serious don't know the effect of an honor code violation. Is that an academic hit or an exemption from APR. If he remains in school or returns to school after his punishment-what is the affect? I'd wonder if TCU can't slide the affect 1 year by considering him "suspended" rather than a transfer not in good academic standing "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Mac Engel: Devonte Fields will not return to TCU
I thought the last minute change of heart from TCU seemed awfully fishy. I think you may have hit the nail on the head. Also worth noting they play SFA next year, and they may have decided they don't want to have him go to a future opponent.
