Thoughts?

We're not getting Kiffin (he'll be at Bama until another P5 job comes along) but we definitely should be pursuing younger, up and coming candidates. Need some youth and ambition back in this program ASAP. No more old MFers trying to run out the clock while using this program as their own personal retirement piggy bank.

I don't mind someone young and ambitious, but someone older and established also works as long as his heart and soul is into every aspect of the game (recruiting included). Look at what Larry Brown has accomplished.

Chad Morris was a HS coach once. He has a OC job right now and he may be eyeing the A&M job. SMU will be a good platform for him

LB is a unicorn though, there's just no one like him in football. All these has-beens mentioned don't even come close.

We don't need an LB. We already have one. We need a young guy that can recruit and win.

Chad Morris has a great resume but whoever comes in here is going to have to be a great salesman and he is going to need a staff of great salesmen working with him. They have to sell the current players (however many they might choose to retain), future recruits and our students, alumni, faculty/staff and what is left of our fan base that we can become relevant again

Have talked to hs coaches that say JJ needs to be gone. They will welcome ANYONE (paraphrasing) but yes they will do any other SMU coach that doesn't do the classic pony express (snailmail aka USPS)
