Yep, we'd lose any chance to win over Dallas and we'd push away a lot of our existing fans. We need to fix our real problem (talent) instead of fixing a problem that doesn't exist.

Open up for 60 plays of get after it, full contact, football. Yes, put yellow on the QB, but please get them ready for play.
We all know you don't like it but it is the ONLY way to do justice to the same young men you signed for the team.
Send them prepared to give it their best.
Thanks GS Simons
Looks like you were right Bus.

TV announcers commenting, " SMU never went live and practiced tackling."

I played rugby for approx 10 years (college and after), and not once did I tackle to ground. In fact, "touch" rugby was an out-of-season thing we did to practice strategies. Of course, 7s tournaments required tackling when regular 15s was over... but we never tackled to ground.
The important part of sports (from what I can tell), is mental. Knowing how to instinctively do something (tackle, positioning, sync) without actively thinking about your actions is the important part. "Tackling to ground" is irrelevant.

That's rugby. Not the same as football. Football is impact. Rugby is dancing.

You have never watched rugby if that's what you think.

tackling is an art, takes practice to do it right. If you do it right both players learn to avoid injury. plus you need to get that satisfaction from a smooth hit.

Put an FCS team week 1, Sun Belt week 2, etc. Thoughts?
We do that and Ford would be much emptier than it usually is. Plus those wins wouldn't be as easy to come by as you might think. Talent is our problem not the schedule.
June Jones and his lazy band of sh*t coaches and horrible offensive scheme is our problem, not the talent, tackling to the ground, or the schedule.

Bus, we all know that our depth at virtually every position is so limited that we cannot afford any injuries. Yes, it is a failure of recruiting, but this team is so thin at every position that it will be interesting to see how many bodies we have left at the end of the season.

That is just wrong. By not preparing properly you subject the kids to a greater chance of injury. I would have the kids in a full scrimmage this Saturday to prepare for A&M.
