Re: What do the big $$ people think? The bigs are far from on the same page re: athletics. Power has amassed to a very small ring and some care deeply, while others care very little (athletics).

Let me ask you this. Just want to get your thoughts. Let's say you had the money. Would you keep June for the 2 years remaining for his contract extension, fire him now or keep him until the end of the season? "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: What do the big $$ people think?I'm glad that you all are asking my opinion. I think June needs to go.
Your friend, Big $$
Re: What do the big $$ people think? So, if I am a $ guy:
First, I reach out to all of my business connections from P5 schools and ask them about their most recent experiences from search committees, looking for anyone with connections to USC or ND similar schools who have gone through something like this. We are not on that level right now, but the planning and organization of the search is the same. Second, I'm looking at the money involved in every option. Is the financial difference (if there is one) between an in-season and post season firing worth it based on current circumstances and the fact that we will not be able to sign a quality coach until after the season is over. Third, I'm reaching out to determine what the impact of the timing is on potential recruits and the media. Having said all of that, were I a $ guy I would promote pulling the plug now. Nothing is earned with Jones having the rest of the season to either destroy what is left or somehow pull out a .500 season. Proactivity when faced with adversity allows you to control the message and direct the publicity of the remainder of the season. It sets the right attitude and image, and more importantly, it shows the current and future players that you will make the hard and costly decision to act in their best interest if you have to.
