Please explain how June was equipped enough to get to a few bowl games but now is not equipped enough to have a respectable showing at UNT?

I know this was not addressed to me, but here is my two cents

I believe that June is capable of being a very good coach. But his system is so complicated he needs very good players and he needs them over several years in order to maximize their potential. His refusal to actively recruit and to replace good assistants with other good assistants as well as his lack of personal effort have caught up with him.

My guess is the negative vibe coming from PFs - the so-called PF's Group of 30. They have methodically brought this program, and JJ down. The group's constant criticism (BTW, don't worry about if the criticism was justified, that's not important) has really soured our coach's vibe. Over time this has pushed him into wearing black shirts on gameday to reflect his mood. Also, it's tough to convince your golfing buddies (aka your coaching staff) to visit all these DFW high schools when Avid Golfer Dallas keeps offering great green fee discounts. Plus, there are sooo many HS around here, and they are so spread out. You know traffic sucks in DFW. Every time JJ would swing by one of these HS, a coach from another college would be there hijacking his appointment time. The whole thing is unfair.

Being a college football HC in Texas is hard. You actually have to work to get recruits and fans, sometimes all day! Bottom line, there are two reasons this is ending so badly - the Group of 30 making this situation completely unbearable and SMU not making it clear in the interview process the amount of work/time required to be successful at SMU.

Once he gets his info from the coaches as to what to say my guess is that he will say it is somehow Turner's, Hart's, Rival's, and Scout's fault.
