In a survey published this summer by a Texas newspaper, Beaty was tabbed as the most well-liked college recruiter in the Dallas area high schools according to Texas high school football coaches. If there is one coach that may treat the SMU job as a destination as opposed to a stepping stone type of job, it could be Beaty.

My top two choices from all the names I have seen. I would be thrilled with either guy...and Getting both would be a heist. Morris HC, Beaty OC or Associate HC.

It may be easier to lure Beaty here as a HC than an Offensive Coordinator...but there's no harm in trying. Maybe QB coach/OC? Morris looks like he may want to run his own offense and call plays.

We haven't talked about defensive coordinator yet.
