Good for them not shying away from tough competition. Sounds like they want the chance to prove they belong with the P5.

That's the way it should be.

In our own conference, Cincy, UCF and UH are in stronger positions right now as candidates for P5 than we are.

Only by the state of their football programs at this exact point in time. We could be the best G5 school in the country with the right coaching staff, recruitment and commitment to facilities in the future. TCU was the best G5 program before they moved up, so I agree with ED that we should strive to do something similar to what they did.

Although I will admit UCF is a very, very attractive option. And no, I am not only referring to their sororities.. :lol:

A lot more AAC programs than that are "stronger" candidates for P5 than we are. Doesn't mean they have anywhere to go though.

I still think memphis could make a strong push. Great in hoops but struggling in football. They played ucla tough so maybe they can turn the corner. I like memphis as a candidate over cincy or houston...ucf as well from a geography standpoint.
