Tony Dungy next SMU Head Football Coach?

Of course it would be a long shot, but ya never know "where people are" at any given moment. Tony Dungy at 58 years old might like the challenge and mentoring of young men at a place like SMU. Coach Dungy would also make history being the first African American Head Football Coach at SMU. He doesn't have any Texas ties, but did Jimmy Johnson have any Florida ties when he took the job at Miami? The worst that could happen is he could say "no".

He's NEVER coached one game in college and has been out of coaching for 6+ years. I have no idea why we would want him / he would entertain the idea.

I didn't even consider Dungy because it never even entered my mind as possible. Anyone who would be against Tony Dungy (in the 1% chance he would even take the job) is beyond crazy. Dungy would have us in the top 10 within 4 years....

And for the idiots who think you need to have coached in college to be considered for the SMU job, need to have themselves committed. So in fantasy land, if Bill Belichick wanted to come to SMU, the idiots on Pony fans would be saying "but he doesn't have college experience"??? HAHAHA

A 5th grader could coach SMU to a national championship with the talent Dungy would bring in.....
