Wrong. The first you do is circle the wagons and take care of the business at hand. No reading newspapers, postings on the internet, tweets, radio talk shows, etc. You get everyone associated with the program and you go to work the way you think the program should be run. What have you got to lose? It is actually fun because it really tests your character and brings a team together toward one goal of doing whatever it takes to win. Those coaches and players not willing to put forth a total team effort then adios. No playing guys just because of who their father is or if it is a family friend or some rich guys son. Scrimmage and play the guys who you would want on your side in a fist fight as Hayden used to say.

Actually Hayden's challenge was whether you wanted to play football or be a shoe clerk. We had a good athlete that just would not put in the work and Hayden yelled that at him all the time. The kid quit the team and became a shoe salesman at a mall in Ft Worth.
