Tide Pony is right. Just look at that terrible TCU band 10 years ago and now. Cheerleaders like the Dallas Cowboys and much bigger presentation with a larger band and all the fluff around it. SMU band is much better, it is just too small for the huge arena that is Division 1 football and Gameday. Times have changed.

Not so fast....take a gander over to KillerFrogs.com....there is a whole thread about their terrible band. Seems it has gotten smaller and outdated (whatever that means). Now the cheerleaders? Don't see any grumblings about those over there.

TCU band looks like a high school band with all of the curved lines and unloud people. They also do the same show all year.

Any thoughts on reducing the piped in music? I really like to hear the band(s) at college games, and it's a total beating to hear rock/rap songs I would not listen to on the radio. There are live kids there ready to play their instruments.

Please Mic the Band from now on and never play rap music in Ford ever again. Maybe a pump up techno song like Darude - Sandstorm or Avicii - Levels/wake me up for kickoffs but that is it. More band please.

What's wrong with rap? Just because you like some other style of music doesn't mean that recruits don't like it. That goes for rock or rap.

I'm with floridastang on this one. It's probably just me but I hate Rap and Rock music. To me the bands are much more preferable.

Most bands are garbage. They are like cheerleaders - they have lost sight of their purpose/job, to entertain the people at football games.

Most of them are instead out to entertain themselves or other band people, or to train future high school band directors who will also be more interested in entertaining other band people (contests) than doing their job at game time. The whole system is self interested and debauched.

AT&T is right down the road. You would think they could sponsor or put in necessary towers around stadium.

I'd actually make the case for approaching Alcatel Lucent, headquartered in Plano, for a sponsorship deal for the DAS equipment at Ford. They're the company that supplies the antennas and towers for the big four wireless carriers in the U.S., as well as a number of other major international carriers.

Spreads your cost out.$1,000,000 at 4% interest (HP finance is great for this stuff btw) spread over 5 years is $17,300 a month. I know. Hart is busy budget slashing, but maybe beg turner to hold off on a fountain and you're good.

Seriously, no excuse. You're just costing yourselves money in the long run.
