Tulane and Marshall both played CHAMPIONSHIP defense against SMU. That's the measure of a great defense.

Not take anything away from the "D" effort by Tulane & MU, but opponents have now watched enough film to know how to stop this spead. Since tcu, an inside LB has stayed & spied Romo on almost every play. It eliminates his playmaking so he's stuck trying to throw to WR who are covered b'cause we run the same boring routes.

Although we have issues with the offense, I cant believe all 11 on each play cant generate more than 7 1st downs. When you're throwing 5 yd outs on 3rd & 9 you're their (opponents) new 12th Man. Predictable play calling is helping our opponents DC spruce up their resumes.

Burns needs to put in some I, and power I plays to punch it in inside the
10 yard line, make that yard on 3rd & 1, and have another basic huddling
offense to switch to when the no-huddle spread just ain't workin, and
you need to kill time off of the clock to win. Forrest Gregg with Tom
Rossley as OC did with their run n shoot.
