Look at recruiting rankings, OOC/bowl records, and 7 of the last 8 national champions. The argument that the SEC is overrated is absurdly stupid. The best talent goes there, they have the best coaches, facilities, everything.

Also, I love the notion that ESPN inflates the national perception of the SEC for ratings. Uh, if the SEC wanted to boost a conference for ratings they wouldn't have picked the one with teams in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina and Arkansas....not exactly major media markets

If Auburn hadn't Shipped the Bed last night, the SEC would have been shut out of the playoffs.

Intra-SEC matchups didn't help them today, but really it was the ACC that devoured the SEC today with Clemson>South Carolina, FSU>Florida, Louisville>Kentucky, and Georgia Tech>Georgia. SEC homers rightly point out those are all SEC East teams, but which exactly are the signature SEC West OOC wins that justify them being regarded as the best division in the history of college football?

Well, the SEC West went 3-0 in non-conference games against teams in the playoff committee's top 25.

The ACC (whole conference), on the other hand, looks to have only played 2 non-conference games against a team currently ranked int he committee's top 25... both games were against Georgia and the ACC went 1-1 in those 2 games.

Actually, a very middle-of-the-pack ACC team (Virginia Tech) beat a current top-5 team, higher ranked than any of those 3 SEC wins, and did it at their place.

The ACC also has more wins against P5 opponents than any other conference, including four wins against teams ranked in the Top 10 when the game was played.
