Apparently, Organ State played with more heart.

Or more liver? Pancreas? Whatever.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I would think SMU is ripe for a great turnaround. I would suspect Morris has the best recruiting connections. That would seem to be the number one objective for a new coach. Not knowing much about other factors, I would have to think the recruiting connections make Morris is our best choice.

And he might actually embrace the few traditions that we have, like wearing red and blue, acknowledging Peruna as our mascot, learning Varsity, acknowledging the cheer squads and MBand, supporting other Mustang teams, and...

Hopefully he can read a map and find Southlake Carroll, Desoto, Arlington Martin, Euless-Trinity, Cedar Hill and Allen. Enough there for half a team, and within 30 miles.

I mentioned Chad Morris two years ago after the ASU thing when so many were throwing out big names. We don't need a big name. We had that with June. We need the real deal...a dynamic coach who is still young enough to get out there and recruit and not too old to change with the times. The question is can he convince SMU people to change in the type of students they recruit to the university to be all-around people and not just nerds or heading back to India or Korea after graduation. We need diversity but also all-around good students. Lastly, can Morris recruit a young aggressive staff and garner support from SMU donors everywhere, not just the big spenders.

What's wrong with recruiting from India or Korea? And why is any of that Morris' business?

I suspect the will be as engaging as LB with the school, the students and the community. Houston- we have a winner!

And LB was present on the front row during the presser - and CM acknowledged and thanked him for being there.

Definitely agree, though as a Carroll grad, I hope we're only going there to cherry pick the best OL prospects. As great as the team is, not a lot of dual threat QBs or tall, physical WRs to choose from. Just a lot of very good HS players.

Nobody should be recruiting at Allen. Bunch of scrubs who can't figure out how to build a football stadium ;).

Assume you're talking about Trinity as far as OL? We actually got a nice LB prospect from there in last years class. (Ngalo)

Hopefully your SL boy, Brown, develops into one of Morris' power running game studs on our interior line for the next 3 years.
