Which teams will be weaker than us?

This is apples to apples in terms of talent on the current roster, but completely apples to oranges in terms of recruiting potential, conference affiliation, coaching connections in texas, booster funding, etc.

But I see your point nonetheless. We are virtually starting over (worse than when June was hired IMHO).

I think 2 wins next year is a floor, with 4 the ceiling in terms of expectations. A good coach with a solid scheme can make that much of a difference even with subpar talent.

Here's my overall thinking on reasonable expectations:

Year 1: 2-4 wins
Year 2: 4-6 wins
Year 3: 6-8 wins
Year 4: Conference championship game (9-10 wins)

Will not be an overnite turnaround with the mess we have now. Basically we care a D1AA team. Most team have scored over 40 on us and we haven't scored over 30 this year and only score over 20 twice.

No expectations year 1. 0-2 wins looks like what it could be.

Yes, according to you June recruited good talent. For the last 3 years you had been saying we were young. This year you were saying how experienced our front 7 were and how good they would be. Bottom line is we don't hive the talent yet no matter the experience. Spin it however you want to but it was a talent issue not an experience issue. It is a mess now and next year we should have no expectations other than for the team to play hard.

If losing GG taught me anything it's that having a talented QB makes all the difference. If Morris can get the right QB in here we could be at least competitive within the AAC next year. Against the Baylor and A&M's however...

Can Davis catch? Could we use him in the defensive backfield? He's too good an athlete (especially for this team) to be off the field, but I know he's got his heart set on QB.

God we need some size and athleticism on the DL.

A change of offensive philosophy can help us greatly. A more run orientated offense will help us open up the downfield passing lanes and big plays. In terms of defense, who knows? We could have one of the least talented FBS defenses in the nation next year much like this year.

If we have to go with Davis then Chad Morris has his biggest challenge in his coaching career. He's got the athletic ability. Davis is to Morris as Manual is to Larry Brown-not really fair to Manual but you know what I mean. Incredibly athletic but fundamentally unsound. I don't know Larry is starting to get some production from Manual in last 3 games. Go get em QB Guru-you did it this year with a true freshman
