Re: The Anti-JuneExcellent point about the contract. Didn't think about that. See, I can admit when I am wrong. So basically the donors picked the lesser of the two evils. I can accept that. With that said though, June was still more good than he was bad for SMU. Definitely the best option at the time all things considering. Had SMU gone with that Army Head Coach that ended up at Georgia Tech, SMU would be D-3 playing Trinity and Milsaps today...(and go look at the archive, 80% of ponyfans.com was excited about that clown and his triple option offense). The other guy you all liked at the time was that Neuheisel guy who ended up getting canned at UCLA. For the record, and for the future, does everyone agree that Chad Morris views SMU as his stepping stone to an SEC/UT head coach type possession? And does everyone agree that in the event he works wonders at SMU, that there will be no surprise or bad blood with him when he jumps ship before a BCS Bowl game (in the 100-1 event that miracle happens)?
The Anti-JuneNm. You aren't worth the energy of actually responding to.
Re: The Anti-JuneSMU2007:
Nov 30, 2010 - Rumor: SMU to SEC? Anyone else think this might happen? Dec 20, 2010 - At least June can sell recruits..... September 3, 2009 - June is the only guy who gets the big picture..
Re: The Anti-JuneLook at the difference between the two. Morris is so much more energetic and inspiring.

Re: The Anti-JuneYou might as well get on the bandwagon now-I'm about as skeptical as anyone but I've seen how guys like Morris can work miracles-Recruit well and Count to 3 and get out of our way. We are 0-11 and haven't felt this positive about the entire SMU program since 1984. Everything is in place. SMU has checked off everything on my list that needed to be done to build the foundation. Everybody else bitchin' about problems at SMU are talking about what kind of shingles to put on the roof or the color to paint the walls. Its all going to get taken care of once the foundation is in place

Re: The Anti-JuneThe joke is, I'm just screwing with everyone, I'm beyond happy with the selection. Chad is clear winner. Even if SMU turns out to truly be unfixable, it's going to be fun to watch this fighter go down punching.
Re: The Anti-JuneSmoked you out. Rest my rest. Close and asked for directed verdict

Re: The Anti-June
Nice try
Re: The Anti-JuneYo, straight up copied and pasted your November 30 from the archive..... Say what u want about my comments but you clowns go show all of your SMU to the SEC posts to your friends who didn't go to SMU and report back on the reaction. SMU TO SEC WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Chad Morris could finish the next 10 seasons at SMU ranked at #1 in the Nation and we are still not getting in. If our enrollment was 40,000, then maybe....7,000 students, no chance
Re: The Anti-JuneThis could have gone in any of several threads started since the announcement of HCCM.
I was no longer living in Dallas but people told me that the arrival of Hayden Fry in 1962 was marked by great enthusiasm and spirit. The football team played well that first year - won only two games but lost only one by a margin of two TDs or more. I've read about and sometimes commented on Cavan, Bennett, and Jones since the start of ponyfans but do not recall anything to match the greetings Morris has received. I hope someone who was on campus or at at least in Dallas when Fry came and who is close to things today will pass judgement on my comment. Or maybe it has been done - I have not read all the new posts.
Re: The Anti-JuneWe didn't have the internet back then but as soon as you heard Ron Meyer speak for the first time alumni, students, fans and recruits pretty much came down with a case of Mustang Mania. Greatest Coach/Salesman I've seen in College Football. He could have been successful without cutting corners-just would have taken a few more years. He was slick

Re: The Anti-JuneWhat I keep wondering about is how our student population stays the same practically since I graduated in 1976, but the number of buildings on the campus has assuredly doubled since then? Smaller classes? Anyone know if there are plans to increase the student population?
