It was an embarrassment to the SMU fans that showed up and to the whole damn athletic department. What an absolute joke of a football program SMU is running. I do applaud the effort of the players. It is a shame they have a QB who is too scared to run the ball anymore. Bench Romo and start Phillips!
There are some Div. 1-AA schools that draw MORE than what showed up at Ford last weekend! The Montana Grizzlies come to mind first.

there are PLENTY of I-AA schools who draw better than SMU did last weekend. Most of the schools in the Southern Conference draw from 10-20,000 consistently. That ECU game was an embarrasment, but was all too predictable. ECU was the equivalent of playing Nevada. They aren't bringing but a couple hundred fans and SMU needs more help than that. Let's just hope some Rice people show up for our homecoming game, but after the start the Owls have gotten off to, I don't expect much more than family & friends of the Owl players & coaches.

first off I was at the ECU game, and I agree the crowd was small(minus the herd of little kids at the endzone) none the less, besides getting local fans excited about the game, they need to get the STUDENTS excited about the game. I am friends with a lot of football players and they said having the students yelling and doing what we do best(making fun of the other team) really gets them pumped up and they do better. If we could get even a couple thousand out to the games, it would fill up the stadium so much. And speaking of musicians, you should get someone like Pat Green that the students would want to see. Believe me, if Pat Green was there you'd see every SMU student at that game.
GO RED!
GO BLUE!
GO MUSTANGS!
S-M-U!

Pat Green is a Red Raider. I wonder if he'd play at SMU? He plays in Lubbock a lot.

The only problem I see with getting a band to play after the game is, do you think the students would show for the game, or just mosie into the stadium after the game to listen to the band?
Why waste the money? It won't work.
As I posted earlier this year, get some Ford Mustangs and announce the winning ticket during the game. You will have to post it on the jumbotron, because you can not hear the PA on the student side. You won't know when the winner will be announced, but you must be present to win. Oh and by the way, we will give away 2 cars during the season, but no one will know which games will have winners. If you want to win a car, you better have your butt in the stadium. If the winner does not show within 30 minutes, you can draw another ticket or hold it until the next game.
Just send 'da money.

Pat Green plays everywhere...I'm sure he'd play SMU - and the students would come out I bet.
